Discover Riga!

The aim of the event was to improve the quality of service given by LFF to the children left without parental care, provide useful leisure time possibilities as well as to promote social integration of children and youth.

The target audience of the project was 30 children from foster and guardian families, and the activities were carried out from 1 June until 1 September.

A meeting of the target group was organized in the beginning of the project so children could get acquainted with each other and to map the routes of discovering Riga.

Activities of “Discovering Riga” were carried out throughout the summer:

06.06.2013. – Mežaparks, Ķīšezers, Mežakaķis, Miera street

07.08.2013. – Embankment of Riga, trip by river ship, Andrejsala

After sightseeing, participants evaluated which pictures taken were the best, and which of them were the best way that portrayed things that are difficult to notice. Photos and photo descriptions by the participants about what they saw during sightseeing in Riga, were put on display at the LFFA support center.

The Welfare Department of the Riga City Council financially supported the project.
