New social initiative: Guardians and foster care children go sailing!

Children living in foster families will be able to go sailing, thanks to a new socially responsible project. It is an initiative of two organizations, "We Will Win" in association with "We Help". Other sports clubs will be invited to participate in the initiative.

On September 26, Yacht Club "Auda" and the Latvian Foster Family Association signed a cooperation agreement, which marks the beginning of a partnership between the two organizations.

The LFFA and Yacht Club "Auda" have agreed to work together to help those children who lack that, which in life for them is most important, that being parents. In practice, this means providing new opportunities to improve their quality of life by establishing new friendships with peers in an active environment. Yachting is an opportunity to participate and explore success in friendly competition. Children will be able to train and participate in yachting activities held at the Yacht Club “Auda” Riga Sailing Academy free of charge. The Yacht Club offers this opportunity to all Latvian Foster Family Association Families and children. In addition, guardians and foster families will be able to use yachts together, and by overcoming the challenges of navigating the wind and waves, they can solidify family ties.

This new initiative is also a call for other sports federations and clubs to get involved with the LFFA and to show their support for guardians and foster families. This new friendship is an example for other sports federations and sports clubs to get involved and contribute their support of guardians and foster families. The Riga Sailing Academy's motto is "We have to win. We will win!" While the Latvian Association of Foster's motto is "We will help!” Both organizations believe that they have come together to create joy to those who need it most.
